Delays in veterinary surgery would have killed the Labrador Retriever puppy with high fever, not eating and salivating a lot. He had gall bladder obstruction. Surgery was needed but he might die on the operating table. Would the pet shop operator pay for the high veterinary fees which exceeded the value of the puppy?  There was no guarantee of success.  Money or life?   Now or never?  Dead or alive?
